About the Role
Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established specialist SEN school in Andover, which is launching an exciting new provision this term. This new area of the school has been designed to support Key Stage 3 students who are learning at a Key Stage 1 or 2 level.
The school has an excellent reputation for its nurturing ethos, inclusive approach, and commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. Staff work collaboratively with therapists, support assistants, and families to create a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all learners.
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Primary Teacher to join this supportive SEN school on a Temp-to-Perm basis. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping a brand-new learning space and to make a meaningful difference to students who thrive with a primary-style curriculum within a secondary-age setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons for KS3 pupils working at primary level
- Create a nurturing, well‑structured classroom that supports social and emotional development
- Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
- Track and record progress, contributing to EHCPs and personalised learning plans
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Uphold the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies
Qualifications
- A recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching within KS2 (experience in SEN settings is desirable)
- A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Patience, creativity, and a strong sense of empathy
- The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
