About the Role
We are seeking caring and dedicated SEN Supply Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of special educational needs (SEN) settings in Aylesbury. This flexible role is ideal for individuals looking for day-to-day cover, short-term placements, or long-term opportunities while supporting students with additional learning needs.
In this role, you will have the chance to work with children with a variety of needs, such as ASD, SEMH, ADHD, MLD, SLD, or more complex needs. You may be placed in primary, secondary, or specialist provisions, depending on the needs of the setting.
Responsibilities
- 1:1 and Small Group Support: Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN in both individual and group settings.
- Assist the Class Teacher: Help deliver engaging lessons that are accessible to all learners.
- Holistic Support: Assist in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of pupils.
- Implement Strategies: Work with the teacher to implement individual support and behaviour management strategies.
- Safe & Inclusive Environment: Help create and maintain a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Personal Care: Provide support with personal care, if required (depending on the setting).
Requirements
- Experience: Experience working with children with SEN (formal or informal).
- Attributes: A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach to working with children with additional needs.
- Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff.
