Supply Desk is excited to partner with a well-regarded primary school in Rickmansworth, known for its welcoming, inclusive community and dedicated staff. We are seeking a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, with an ASAP start.
Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support students’ learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. Your role will be instrumental in helping children develop key skills, gain confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students, tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with classroom organisation and help promote a positive, engaging learning environment.
- Adapt resources and activities to meet a variety of learning needs.
- Support teachers during lessons and classroom activities, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with students and staff members.
- Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and motivating classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and track students' progress and wellbeing, providing feedback when necessary.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Confidence in behaviour management and understanding of classroom routines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and safeguarding procedures.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
