About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school, where you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with special educational needs to reach their full academic, personal, social, and emotional potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs, abilities, and learning styles of pupils with SEN.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and positive engagement.
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and complex needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate strategies, interventions, and individual learning plans to support pupil progress.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupils' progress, adapting teaching and support strategies where required.
- Promote the development of pupils' academic, communication, social, emotional, and life skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent, personalised, and trauma-informed approaches where appropriate.
- Maintain high expectations for all pupils and encourage their independence and participation in learning.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and/or complex needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs.
- The ability to build positive, trusting, and supportive relationships with pupils.
- A patient, empathetic, resilient, and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, independence, and positive outcomes for pupils with SEN.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
