Primary supply teachers – Portsmouth
Pay – £140 - £170
Hours – 8am – 3.30PM Temporary – Autumn Term 2026
Start – September 2026
Your role as a Primary supply teacher would be filling day to day, short-term and even long-term bookings throughout primary schools in the Southampton area. You would not be planning, assessing or attending staff meetings but would be expected to mark children’s work and ensure consistency within the classroom, ensuring that pupils receive a consistently high standard of education. You will need excellent classroom management skills and a thorough knowledge of the current National Curriculum. You will encourage positive pupil development and monitor pupils’ progression.

What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience teaching throughout Primary schools
- Energetic and positive attitude
- QTS
- Current DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply
