Position: Full-Time Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Eastbourne

Pay: £92.63– £100 per day

Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm

Contract: Full-Time – Term Time Only

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join supportive school settings in Eastbourne on a full-time basis.

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with behavioural and emotional needs? We are recruiting motivated and empathetic Behaviour Support Assistants to work full-time in schools across Eastbourne and nearby areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours or require additional emotional and behavioural guidance. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.

Key Duties

  • Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support to pupils.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans.
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and self-regulation skills.
  • De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Assist the class teacher in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and promote pupil wellbeing at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs (school, youth work, care, or similar settings).
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to full-time work.
