Position Overview
Supply Desk is pleased to be supporting a secondary school in Southampton to recruit an English Teacher. This part-time role begins immediately and will run through to Easter 2026, teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
You’ll be joining an English department that places a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, literacy development, and fostering a love of reading and writing. The role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Support students in developing strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Assess and monitor progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the department’s curriculum planning and enrichment activities.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.

- A degree in English or a related subject (essential).
