Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the specialist SEND provision within a thriving secondary school in the New Forest from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity supporting students with additional needs within a dedicated provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted interventions and small-group learning sessions within the SEND provision
- Support students with a range of additional learning needs across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual student needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals
- Provide classroom support to ensure students can fully access the curriculum
- Assist with monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
- Build strong relationships with students, staff and families
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold an HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or a relevant Education degree
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Be confident working with students who require additional academic, social or emotional support
- Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be flexible, resilient and committed to helping students achieve their potential
- Have experience working within a secondary school environment

- Right to work in the UK
- Two years' worth of professional references
