Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
- Support the student’s academic, emotional, and social development throughout the school day.
- Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence within lessons and school activities.
- Adapt resources and learning materials to meet the individual needs of the student.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where required.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies are followed at all times.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is desirable.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of SEND needs is advantageous.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Willingness to participate in training and ongoing professional development.
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and suitable professional references.
