About the Role
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Geography Teacher looking for your next opportunity?
We are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you’ll inspire students to develop their geographical knowledge, curiosity, and understanding of the world around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive Geography lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE examinations where applicable.
- Develop students’ understanding of physical and human geography, including topics such as climate change, ecosystems, urbanisation, population, and global development.
- Encourage students to develop strong geographical enquiry, research, analytical, and fieldwork skills.
- Use a range of teaching strategies, resources, maps, data, and technology to support engaging and effective learning.
- Plan and deliver fieldwork and practical geographical activities where appropriate.
- Assess, monitor, and record students’ progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every student is supported to achieve their potential.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement within the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for inspiring students to understand the world through geographical learning.
- strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
