We are seeking a passionate Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school, where you'll play a key role in inspiring pupils and supporting their academic, personal, and social development as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2.
- Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
- Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting pupils in developing their literacy, numeracy, and wider academic skills.
- Teach and support pupils with reading, writing, spelling, grammar, mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support where required.
- Prepare pupils for the increased academic expectations of Year 5 and support their continued development across the curriculum.
- Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school team to support pupils' progress and wellbeing.
- Encourage pupils to develop independence, resilience, confidence, and effective learning habits.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
