Full-Time KS2 Class Teacher (ECT) position in a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Uxbridge area, starting in September. This role is exclusively for ECTs and offers an excellent opportunity to begin your teaching career in a nurturing environment, with a strong focus on mentoring, professional development, and career progression.
The Role
As a KS2 Class Teacher, you will support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, helping them build confidence and independence as they progress through Key Stage 2. You will benefit from a comprehensive ECT induction programme, including ongoing support from experienced teachers and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
- Support learning and progression in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths)
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, using feedback to inform future teaching
- Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN
- Encourage resilience, independence, and a love of learning
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Requirements
- Currently completing or recently completed teacher training (working towards or achieved QTS)
- A strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum developed through placements
- A positive, reflective, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Good classroom management skills appropriate for an ECT level
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit to a full-time role in Uxbridge from September
Desirable
- KS2 placement experience (Upper or Lower KS2)
- Awareness of assessment and pupil progress tracking
- Understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
- Commitment to continuous professional development
