Supply Desk is pleased to be working with a friendly and inclusive school in the Langley area to recruit a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing environment and contribute to their academic and personal development.
This role is ideal for individuals with a Level 2 qualification and some experience working with children, either in schools, care, or support settings.
The Role
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the classroom, including those with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
- Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
- Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN support teams
Requirements
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children (school, nursery, or care setting)
- A genuine passion for supporting young learners
- Patient, positive, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to work full-time in the Langley area
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Previous school-based experience
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management
