Learning Support Assistant – SEN School

Full-Time | Long-Term | ASAP Start | Borehamwood

Supply Desk is excited to partner with a nurturing SEN school in Borehamwood to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full-time, long-term role with an ASAP start .

The Role:
You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide tailored support across Key Stage 1 . Your role will be shaped by your experience and the specific needs of the pupils, ensuring that every child receives the right level of support to succeed.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver focused interventions in literacy, numeracy , and emotional development .

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) .

  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

  • Adapt learning resources to meet the individual learning styles of students.

  • Track pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to the class teacher.

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive , and engaging classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school or SEN setting .

  • A calm, empathetic , and proactive approach to supporting students.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills .

  • Flexibility and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
