Contract: Full-Time Maternity Cover

Salary: £140–£220 per day (Dependent on experience and qualifications)

An excellent secondary school in Horsham is seeking an experienced Science Teacher to join their team from October on a long-term maternity cover basis. This role will primarily involve teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, working within a supportive and established department. While Science will be your main responsibility, there may occasionally be opportunities to support the wider school through general classroom cover where required.

We're looking for a teacher who can bring energy, enthusiasm, and strong classroom practice to help students develop confidence and curiosity within Science.

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge learners
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing effective feedback
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
  • Supporting with occasional cover lessons across other curriculum areas when required

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
  • A flexible and professional approach
  • SEN experience is advantageous but not essential
