SEN Teacher – Primary & Secondary Watford, Hertfordshire | Full-Time | September Start

Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist school in Watford, Hertfordshire, seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team from September. The school supports children and young people aged 5–19 years, with this role focused on teaching within the Primary and Secondary phases. Pupils have a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex learning needs.

The Role

  • Teach pupils within the Primary or Secondary phase, depending on your experience.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs.
  • Support pupils with Autism (ASC/ASD), SEMH and complex additional needs.
  • Create a structured, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and senior leaders.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor pupil progress and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and external professionals.

About You

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly Autism (ASC/ASD), SEMH or complex needs.
  • Is passionate about inclusive education.
  • Can adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs.
  • Is patient, resilient, creative and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every pupil.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
