About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated SENCO looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Part-Time SENCO Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in leading and developing SEND provision while ensuring pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to achieve their full academic, social, and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and monitor pupils with SEND, ensuring appropriate interventions and support plans are implemented.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop inclusive teaching practices and effective classroom strategies.
  • Coordinate and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring statutory requirements are met.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to teaching and support staff on SEND best practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions, using data to inform future planning and provision.
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and all relevant statutory guidance.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
  • Teach a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting pupils in developing their literacy, numeracy, and wider academic skills.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support where required.
  • Support pupils in developing their reading, writing, phonics, mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in line with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school team to support pupils' progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
