About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated RE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic RE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you’ll inspire pupils to develop their knowledge, critical thinking, and understanding of religion, beliefs, and ethical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive RE lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
- Teach pupils across a range of religious, philosophical, ethical, and cultural topics.
- Develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of different religions, beliefs, values, and worldviews.
- Encourage pupils to think critically, ask questions, and engage respectfully with different perspectives.
- Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupils to participate, learn, and achieve.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement within the classroom.
- Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities and learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to planning, assessment, school activities, and wider school events where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Religious Education.
- Experience teaching RE within a secondary school setting.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for inspiring pupils and encouraging respectful discussion and critical thinking.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
