As an Aspiring SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in the classroom, including those with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Work closely with teachers and experienced staff to develop your skills while making a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist with lesson activities and classroom support.
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Help adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in working within SEND or education.
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work or similar).
  • Patient, compassionate, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a school setting.
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Ability to work full-time in the Iver area.
  • Understanding of SEN needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
  • Previous experience in a school or support setting.
  • Interest in progressing into teaching or specialist SEND roles.
