About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

We are recruiting motivated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary and specialist settings in Hailsham.

This role offers the opportunity to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets.

Flexible supply work allows you to broaden your experience across different settings, with opportunities for longer-term placements or permanent roles for the right candidates.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable).
  • Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Professional, flexible, and reliable attitude to work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive daily rates of pay.
  • Dedicated education consultants who understand your career goals.
  • Flexible working opportunities across Hailsham and surrounding areas.
  • 'Refer a Friend' scheme - earn up to £150 collectively.
  • Access to our CPD hub to support your professional development and upskill your SEND knowledge and practice.

Supply Desk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

An enhanced DBS, including a children's barred list check and, where applicable, a vulnerable adults barred list check, is required for all successful candidates.

To be considered for the role and the rates advertised, you must meet the minimum experience, training or qualifications stated and have the legal right to work in the UK.

To be considered for a higher rate, in addition to meeting the minimum criteria, you must be able to demonstrate additional experience, training, and if applicable, qualifications.
