Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harrow from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant who is committed to supporting young children and providing them with the very best start to their educational journey.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to create a stimulating, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued, confident, and encouraged to learn through play and exploration. Working as part of a collaborative and experienced Early Years team, you will support the delivery of creative learning opportunities in line with the EYFS Framework, help monitor children's progress, and build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.

The Role

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and creative learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that supports every child's development.
  • Support children's learning through play, exploration, and practical activities.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to assessment.
  • Provide individual and small-group support to help children develop their communication, social, emotional, physical, and academic skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Support children with their personal care and day-to-day needs where required.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and school events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or a relevant subject.
  • Has experience working with children within an Early Years or primary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom support skills.
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Is passionate about providing an engaging, nurturing, and supportive learning environment.
  • Is patient, caring, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children reach their full potential.
  • Promotes inclusive practices and supports the individual needs of every child.
  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
