Supply Desk is working with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Stoke Poges area to recruit a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a KS1 Class Teacher role. This is an ideal opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career in a nurturing environment, with strong mentoring and a structured induction programme.
The Role
As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping pupils’ early learning experiences, building strong foundations in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and social development. You will be supported throughout your ECT journey by experienced colleagues and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
- Support early development in phonics, reading, writing, and maths
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN
- Encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learning
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and staff
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Requirements
- ECT (QTS achieved or pending)
- KS1 teaching experience from placements
- Good understanding of phonics and early learning
- Enthusiastic, positive, and reflective teaching approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full-time availability in Uxbridge from September
Desirable
- Familiarity with phonics schemes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Little Wandle)
- Experience supporting SEN pupils
- Understanding of early assessment frameworks
