We are currently seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Edgware. This is a full-time opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Support learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Encourage pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Assist with behaviour management using positive and consistent strategies.
- Adapt support to meet individual learning needs and learning styles.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Support pupils in developing independence, confidence, and resilience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
