A high-performing sixth form college in the Southampton area is seeking a committed Media Studies Teacher for a full-time role starting in September and running until the end of the Autumn Term (December). You will teach Media Studies up to A-Level, delivering engaging, analytical and creative lessons that develop students' critical thinking, production skills and understanding of contemporary media. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-achieving post-16 environment with motivated learners.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Teaching Media Studies at A-Level
  • Delivering engaging lessons covering media theory, analysis and production
  • Supporting students with coursework, practical projects and exam preparation
  • Planning and contributing to a well-structured and ambitious curriculum
  • Encouraging critical thinking around digital, print and broadcast media
  • Assessing and tracking student progress in line with departmental expectations

What We're Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent post-16 teaching experience)
  • Experience teaching Media Studies at KS5/A-Level
  • Strong subject knowledge across media theory and practical production
  • The ability to inspire and engage post-16 learners
  • Confident classroom management suited to a mature learning environment
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
