Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Eastbourne Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Working Pattern: Full-time, with job-share considered Pay Rate: £100 – £125 per day, depending on experience and qualifications About the Role Supply Desk is working with a welcoming primary school in Eastbourne who are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA who is confident supporting learning across the primary age range and enjoys taking on additional responsibility within the classroom. The school is also open to considering a job-share, making this a great opportunity for candidates looking for a more flexible long-term role. Key Responsibilities Support teachers with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons Lead pre-planned lessons and learning activities where required Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and progress Provide targeted support to pupils with different learning needs Help maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment Support behaviour management and promote positive relationships Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience Work closely with teachers and the wider school team Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate The Ideal Candidate Previous experience working as a TA, HLTA or in a similar education role Confident leading learning activities and supporting classroom teaching Strong understanding of the primary curriculum Excellent communication and organisation skills Calm, patient and adaptable approach Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff Experience supporting SEND would be advantageous A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential What We Offer Long-term opportunity in a primary school in Eastbourne Full-time hours, with job-share considered Competitive daily rate Dedicated support from your Supply Desk consultant Access to CPD and training opportunities The opportunity to make a real difference to pupils' learning and development How to Apply If you're an experienced HLTA or Teaching Assistant looking for your next long-term opportunity in Eastbourne, we'd love to hear from you.
