About the Role
Supply Desk are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy and welcoming nursery setting. This role is ideal for a strong senior practitioner or existing deputy manager who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and supporting a high-performing early years team. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help ensure excellent standards of care, education, safeguarding and operational management throughout the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery
- Lead and motivate staff to deliver high-quality childcare and learning experiences
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
- Assist with staff supervision, training and development
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers
- Help maintain accurate records, observations and assessments
- Support occupancy, staffing ratios and nursery administration
- Step into the Nursery Manager role in their absence
- Promote a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Level 5 desirable)
- Previous experience in a senior nursery role (Desirable)
- Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and team-working abilities
- Passionate about child development and early years education
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
