Supply Desk is looking for a compassionate and inspiring Learning Mentor to join a supportive school in Chichester. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural or learning support, helping them develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need to succeed.
You’ll build positive relationships with pupils, providing encouragement and consistency while working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to remove barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
- Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
- Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Help students overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
- Assist with learning activities and targeted interventions.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and SEND professionals.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to support strategies.
- Promote a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience supporting SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs would be advantageous.
- Patient, empathetic and approachable manner.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Resilient and consistent approach.
- Ability to remain calm when managing challenging situations.
- Genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
