Are you a proactive, reliable, and experienced Caretaker or Site Manager with a background in school premises management? Are you looking for a new long-term opportunity in the Maidstone area?
Supply Desk are proud to be working in partnership with a lovely two-form entry primary school and a large, well-regarded secondary school in Maidstone, both of which are seeking experienced Site Managers to join their teams from September 2025. These schools offer supportive environments and are looking for candidates who are dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and safety of the school site, including but not limited to:
- Opening and closing the school site daily.
- Ensuring the premises are clean, safe, and secure at all times.
- Performing minor repairs and general maintenance (basic plumbing, decorating, electrical checks, etc.).
- Carrying out regular Health & Safety duties including fire alarm testing, legionella flushing, and ensuring full COSHH compliance.
- Supporting with emergency repairs or call-outs where necessary.
- Managing the site during adverse weather conditions.
- Overseeing external contractors on-site and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Handling waste management, portering duties, and stock control.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Site Manager or Caretaker, ideally in a school setting.
- Someone local to Maidstone or able to commute easily.
- A flexible, dependable individual with strong DIY and maintenance skills.
- Health & Safety and Fire Safety training/qualifications highly desirable.
- Able to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
- Willing to commit to long-term or permanent positions.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
