The Role
Supply Desk are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary School Physics Teacher to join a thriving school in the Bushey area. You will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons, encourage scientific exploration, and foster a passion for Physics among students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with the potential to teach Key Stage 5).
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to develop their career within a supportive, forward‑thinking, and welcoming school environment. You will play a key role in helping students achieve their potential while developing their analytical thinking and understanding of the world through science.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Physics to Key Stage 3–5 students (or Years 7–12), adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and practical investigations in line with the curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Promote safe laboratory practices and maintain a positive, organised learning environment.
- Inspire curiosity, independent thinking, and enthusiasm for Physics.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the science curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physical Sciences, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification/certification (QTS) or relevant classroom experience.
- Strong subject knowledge of Physics and practical laboratory skills suitable for secondary education.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management abilities.
- A genuine passion for education and inspiring young people to succeed.
