We are working with a well-established secondary school in Borehamwood, known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to fostering both academic success and personal development. The school places a strong emphasis on language learning and cultural appreciation, and they are now seeking a passionate MFL Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis starting in January 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator who can teach Spanish and French across KS3 and KS4. The role may also involve KS5 teaching depending on experience and language skills. You will have the chance to inspire students to achieve fluency in two of the most widely spoken languages in the world while encouraging a love for languages and culture.
The Role:
As an MFL Teacher, you will teach Spanish and French across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of KS5 depending on your experience and the school’s needs. You’ll design and deliver engaging lessons that build students' skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while promoting cultural understanding and international awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic, engaging lessons in Spanish and French across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5
- Differentiating teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners and help students reach their potential
- Foster a love of languages and encourage cultural awareness through interactive lessons
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support their learning and development
- Support students in improving their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
- Collaborate with the MFL department to develop a cohesive curriculum and resources
- Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities, language clubs, and school events
What We’re Looking For:
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Proven experience teaching Spanish and French at secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of the Spanish and French curricula and language teaching methodologies
- A passion for languages and the ability to inspire students with diverse abilities
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for a range of learners
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
