About the Role

Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic and supportive 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school, where you'll provide personalised support to help a student overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and participate positively in school life.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to understand and meet the student's individual needs.
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum by adapting activities, resources, and approaches where appropriate.
  • Provide support with literacy, numeracy, communication, and other areas of learning according to the student's individual needs.
  • Encourage the development of the student's confidence, independence, social skills, and positive attitude towards learning.
  • Support students with a range of additional needs, which may include autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social
  • Maintain accurate recordsand communicate anyconcerns regarding thestudent's learning, behaviour, or wellbeing tothe appropriate memberof staff.
  • Ensure safeguarding policiesand proceduresare followed atall times.

Requirements

  • Previousexperience working withchildren or youngpeople with SENis highly desirable.
  • Experienceproviding 1:1support within aschool, college, childcare, or similar settingis desirable.
  • A genuine passionfor supporting childrenand young peoplewith special educationalneeds.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamworkskills.
  • The ability tobuildpositive, trusting, andprofessional relationshipswith students.
  • A patient, caring, empathetic, and understandingapproach to supportingstudents with additionalneeds.
  • The ability toadapt yourapproach and provideindividualised supportbased on thestudent's needs.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
