Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Ascot to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by promoting positive behaviour and supporting their personal development.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and resilient individual with a passion for supporting students, building positive relationships, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to engage positively with their education and achieve their full potential.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in learning across the school
  • Support students in developing self-regulation, resilience, and confidence
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help overcome barriers to learning
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes
  • Support the school's behaviour policy and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate
  • Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and promoting restorative practices

Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth setting:

  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' wellbeing and educational outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable

Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or Learning Support Assistant:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD, or other additional needs
  • Understanding of restorative approaches and positive behaviour strategies
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or mentoring
