Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and well-regarded primary school in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a dedicated and passionate Year 5 Teacher for a September start. This role is ideal for a committed primary teacher who is enthusiastic about Key Stage 2 education, confident delivering engaging and creative lessons, and dedicated to supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development as they prepare for the transition to upper KS2.
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment, and supporting pupils in their educational journey.
Responsibilities- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
- Teaching a broad range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, and foundation subjects
- Preparing pupils for end-of-year assessments and supporting progression into Year 6
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and the wider school community
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 5, though not essential) (ECTs welcome with relevant primary teaching placements)
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- A nurturing, engaging, and adaptable teaching style
- Availability to start in September
- Ability to commute to Amersham, Buckinghamshire
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
