Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Location: Primary School near Bitterne, Southampton

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Until July 2026 (initially Spring Term, with EHCP funding in place)

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday

Pay: £14 - £16 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a caring and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Your primary responsibility will be to provide consistent, attentive support throughout the morning, enabling the pupil to access learning confidently and safely.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's needs
  • Assist with reintegration into classroom activities
  • Communicate effectively with class teachers and SEND staff
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate support records
  • Support the child's wellbeing, independence, and confidence

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEND)
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Willingness to undertake training related to the pupil's specific needs
  • Previous experience as an LSA, TA, or similar role in a primary setting is desirable
