The Role
- As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching.
- Teach a broad Science curriculum, with opportunities to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics depending on experience.
- Inspire students to develop a genuine passion for Science and an understanding of its importance in the wider world.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Encourage scientific enquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving and practical skills.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and forward-thinking Science department.
The Ideal Candidate
- The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Science or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for teaching Science and inspiring young people.
- The ability to create engaging, challenging and accessible lessons.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing and development of students.
- ECTs are encouraged to apply, as the school offers a supportive environment for teachers at all stages of their careers.
