We are looking for a kind-hearted and dedicated Care Assistant to join a close-knit team at a special educational facility near Chichester. This full-time role offers a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with autism and Aspergers, helping them flourish in a supportive and nurturing environment.

About the School: The school provides a warm and inclusive space for students aged 4 to 16 with autism and ADHD. With a small, welcoming community of around 100 students, the focus is on offering personalised care and education tailored to each child's needs. The dedicated team works closely together to ensure that every student receives the support they need to grow in their independence, well-being, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance to students with autism and ADHD.
  • Support students with daily routines, including mobility, feeding, and hygiene.
  • Assist students in engaging with educational and social activities.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment tailored to students' sensory and emotional needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement individualized learning and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and report concerns to the appropriate staff members.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care assistant or similar role, preferably within an educational or healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of autism, ADHD and associated sensory and behavioural needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
  • An enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this process if required).
