Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919
Students like to give opinions. Your role is to teach them how to support those opinions.
Key responsibilities
- Teach RE across KS3 and KS4
- Guide structured discussion and debate
- Support extended written responses
- Teach ethical and philosophical concepts clearly
- Maintain respectful and focused classroom environment
- Prepare students for GCSE assessment
The classroom environment
- Discussion is controlled and purposeful
- Students respect different viewpoints
- Lessons are structured and clear
- Behaviour expectations are consistent
Skills and experience
- Experience teaching RE or humanities subjects
- Strong communication and questioning skills
- Ability to manage discussion effectively
- Clear and structured teaching approach
What success looks like
- Students justify their answers
- Written responses improve
- Discussion becomes more thoughtful
- Lessons remain calm and focused
QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Theology, Philosophy, or humanities backgrounds.
