NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first. We are looking for an experienced IT and Change professional to join the IT Integration and Management team in our Data, Digital, and Technology Directorate. In the role of IT Service Integration Lead, you will be accountable for owning and delivering the plan to mature our SIAM operating model. You will work across a variety of stakeholders from across the business and our partners to map out how we want to work in the future and build the support and ownership to deliver this. This is a great opportunity to be part of our ongoing transformation and help us to build towards a better future way of working.

Every day you will …

  • Drive Improvements in our SIAM Ways of Working – By owning and driving the SIAM maturity plan you will ensure that we have a clear view on what the priorities are and will hold wider stakeholders to account for delivering against them.
  • Manage key transitions in the model – You will work with the wider technology team to map out the approach for key transition points in the SIAM model and manage these transitions through to completion.
  • Bring stakeholders together – You will bring stakeholders together from across our business and our providers and get their input and commitment to aligned plans.
  • Focus on continuous improvement – You will bring a mindset of continuous improvement to everything we do, challenging the status quo and coaching stakeholders on how to evolve.

What can we offer you? We want to reward you for your passion, enthusiasm, and hard work so we offer much more than a competitive salary:

  • Hybrid working opportunities, giving you the flexibility to work collaboratively in the office and remotely.
  • We recognise our employees' hard work and contributions with annual bonus schemes, long service, and colleague recognition awards.
  • We are dedicated to your development, through in-house training, support, and access to external qualifications to maximise your potential.
  • A focus on your well-being offering 1 day of paid well-being leave and free access to the 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Generous pension scheme (with us contributing 12% when you contribute 6%).
  • Access to our Flexible Benefits Scheme, where you can choose from a variety of benefits such as Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Income Protection, Health Cash Plan, Dental Insurance, and additional pension contributions that suit you.
  • 2 days of paid volunteering leave allowing you to give back to your community.
  • Access to many discounts from the Blue Light Card to NHS Discounts.

NHS Supply Chain, who are we? Our role is to support the NHS to save lives and improve health. We are a part of the NHS family, and our role is to source, deliver and supply healthcare products, services and food for NHS trusts and healthcare organisations across England and Wales. We serve every NHS Trust and operate a national network of distribution centres, managing relationships with more than a thousand suppliers and delivering more than 8,000,000 orders each year to more than 17,000 locations. Doing all of this on behalf of the NHS gives NHS staff more time to focus on their main priority of providing excellent patient care.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • Relationship Building – This role will involve working with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority from across the business so building strong relationships will be critical to the success.
  • Influencing & Negotiating – In driving our SIAM maturity plans and the evolution of the model, the ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate positions will be key to ensure that you can get everyone aligned behind one approach.
  • Planning & Executing – Working within a very busy landscape, the success of any delivery hinges on the ability to plan in clearly and drive the execution of the plan so these skills will be used on a daily basis in this role.
  • Problem Solving – To drive successfully through the complex landscape we are working in, the successful candidate will need to have a calm approach to issue resolution and will need to keep a focus on working through issues to achieve key goals.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset – This will be needed to drive the optimisation of the SIAM model, working with wider stakeholders to look at ongoing opportunities to improve.

What experience are we looking for?

  • Experience in an Operational IT Leadership Role.
  • Experience of managing contracts and services across multiple providers.
  • Qualifications in ITIL 4 or ITIL 5.
  • Experience of IT process optimisation and automation.
  • Experience working in a DevOps/Product Delivery model.

Our Inclusive Commitment At NHS Supply Chain, we are committed to building an inclusive environment where difference is not only valued, but celebrated, giving everyone the opportunity to thrive in their career. How to prepare for a job interview at Supply Chain Corporation

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
