NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a financial Reporting Manager to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first. This is an exciting opportunity to support and guide the financial reporting team in several areas including both internal and external reporting, technical accounting, and audit.
We are seeking a Reporting Manager who will:
- Deliver accurate internal monthly management reporting and financial snapshots to support business performance tracking
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annually stakeholders reports
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for both internal and external stakeholders
- Manage balance sheet accounting and reconciliations with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Support timely decision making through the delivery of external reporting including statutory accounts, stakeholder updates and ONS submissions
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for technical advice, including drafting technical papers and policies
- Oversee payroll reporting and ensure alignment with financial controls
- Prepare balance sheet budgeting and forecasting
- Own and manage month end timetable, ensuring all reporting is delivered accurately and on time
- Continuously review and enhance reporting processes and procedures, leveraging new systems and technologies for improved efficiency
- Act as an escalation point for the team and ensure appropriate conversations are happening at the right level
What skills will help you thrive in this role?
- A fully qualified accountant with several years of experience in this role. Practice experience is a bonus.
- Significant experience in financial accounting and audit knowledge
- Technical accounting expertise
- Able to support the implementation of financial systems process changes and enhancements and ensure all changes are effectively implemented
- The ability to develop effective working relationships and ensure stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met
- The ability to work independently and have a desire for continuous improvement
- Experience with people management
- Great communication skills with finance and non-finance colleagues
