NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Logistics Development Manager to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Development Manager who will be responsible for leading the Logistics Development Team and the Logistics Service Provider in the transformation of the logistics services. The scope covers all transformation/development including systems, infrastructure and service required to ensure that our customers’ requirements are delivered now and in the future. This covers all aspects of transformation/development including the identification of potential future opportunities, their development and subsequent implementation. Cross functional liaison for business development, solutions and service improvements. This is a field-based role and there will be an expectation to travel between our different sites.

- Execute planning activities for one or two manufacturing/distribution units with dependencies on other processes/units/suppliers.
- Provide input to the overall supply planning framework and systems.
- Make sure a portfolio of suppliers are delivering required levels of services.
- Analyse specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.
- Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
- Develop short- or medium-term work schedules to achieve planned commitments.

- Experience in identifying opportunities for operational improvement and long-term growth.
- Proven track record of involvement in change initiatives within the logistics environment.
- Skilled in reviewing proposals for change, assessing the impact and leading implementation efforts.
- A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, particularly Operations.
- Proficient in planning, executing and monitoring project timelines, budgets and deliverables.
- Ability to model logistics processes and evaluate different operational scenarios.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
