NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first. Working as part of a wider project and programme delivery team, this role will focus on the successful delivery of defined projects and workstreams that contribute to our long‑term transformation goals and organisational vision.
Supporting the Programme Manager, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering change initiatives across the organisation, working closely with internal teams, service providers, and stakeholders. Effective project delivery will be essential in embedding sustainable change, helping to drive improved outcomes for our customers, patients, and the wider business.

- Deliver assigned projects or workstreams end-to-end, supporting the Lead Project Manager and Programme Manager to define scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Ensure delivery is achieved within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Work collaboratively with service providers and internal NHS Supply Chain teams to support coordinated delivery across multiple partners, ensuring your projects contribute effectively to the wider Modernisation Programme.
- Apply Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies as appropriate, ensuring compliance with governance processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing regular progress updates to the Lead Project Manager and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, engaging colleagues at all levels to support delivery, manage expectations, and ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement and programme alignment, contributing to lessons learned, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, and ensuring all project activity aligns with NHS Supply Chain’s strategic objectives and transformation goals.

- Project Delivery – Experience delivering low to medium complexity projects across the full lifecycle within a wider programme.
- Methodology & Governance – Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to manage governance, change, and project costs.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong communication skills with proven ability to engage and manage a range of stakeholders.
- Team & Supplier Coordination – Experience working in matrix environments and coordinating cross‑functional teams, with vendor management experience desirable.
- Considered competent in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Project.
- Qualifications & Sector Knowledge – Relevant PPM qualification or equivalent experience; knowledge of healthcare, supply chain, or change frameworks desirable.
