NHS Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a PMO Officer to join our Supply Chain Modernisation Programme at a pivotal time of significant business transformation. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the governance, planning, reporting and control of a diverse portfolio of projects that are helping to shape the future of NHS Supply Chain.

You will work alongside Programme Managers, Project Managers, Business Change teams and external delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered in a controlled, consistent and transparent way. Providing high-quality project controls, governance support and management information, you will help drive informed decision‑making, manage risks and dependencies, and contribute to the successful delivery of programme outcomes.

Reporting to the PMO Lead, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team that plays a central role in enabling delivery across the wider modernisation programme. This role offers the opportunity to develop your PMO expertise while working in a fast‑paced environment where your contribution will have a direct impact on one of the UK’s largest and most complex supply chain transformation programmes.

Every day you will …

  • Provide PMO support across the Supply Chain Modernisation Programme, partnering with Project and Programme Managers to ensure effective planning, governance, reporting and delivery control.
  • Coordinate programme governance and project controls, ensuring adherence to PMO frameworks, standards, templates and reporting requirements to maintain consistency and transparency across the programme.
  • Support project planning and mobilisation activities, including establishing governance structures, tracking milestones, dependencies and critical paths, and identifying potential risks to delivery.
  • Maintain high‑quality programme information and assurance, ensuring robust document management, version control, quality reviews, and accurate tracking of risks, issues and actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration, building strong relationships across delivery teams and partners while enhancing PMO processes, reporting capabilities and governance effectiveness.
