Job Overview:
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated Youth Worker within the Targeted Support Team, part of Targeted Services for Young People for maternity cover.
The successful Youth Worker will work directly with young people who have been referred for one to one support, and will be expected to manage a caseload of referrals.
As a Youth Worker in our team you will build positive and trusting relationships with young people, and will work in a bespoke person centred way in order to get the very best outcomes for them. Young people are referred to the team for one to one support from a variety of agencies and with a wide range of needs which requires a creative, imaginative and Child First approach.
As a Youth Worker in the team you will build positive relationships with families, caregivers and fellow professionals so that young people are effectively safeguarded. You will support and advocate for young people in professionals meetings.
You will work in a variety of settings including young people's homes, community settings, schools etc and will be flexible in your working day as you may be required to work evenings and possible weekends in order to accommodate young people as and when needed .
You will have an excellent understanding of issues facing young people and will be expected to assess individual needs and record interventions in a timely way.
Youth Worker Requirements
- Proven experience in working with Children and young people
- Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure
- Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions
- Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable people
