About the role

Hours - This is an exciting opportunity as we have adapted the flexibility of this role to develop a healthy work/life balance for the successful candidate.

The role will be Monday – Friday with some flexibility based on the individual.

We have an opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team within our children’s home in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area.

Supporting up to 4 Young People with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties.

All our homes are based in a semi-rural location.

Your Role

As a Deputy you will support the registered manager in the running of the home, ensuring compliance with regulation and statutory requirements, along with our organisations policy, procedures and ethos.

You will be required to deputise in the managers absence, supporting staff in addition to the children and young people

Requirement’s to be a Deputy Care Manager

Essential

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or a Shift Leader, within a residential setting.
  • Full UK manual drivers licence
  • Minimum age 22
  • Passion to make a difference
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external agencies
  • Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure
  • Basic IT skills
  • Flexibility of working hours
  • Able to act as a positive role model
  • Knowledge & understanding of Statutory requirements & regulations
  • Knowledge & understanding of Health & Safety, and risk assessments

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification specific in Health & Social Care or Equivalent
  • Registered with Social Care Wales or must register within initial 6 months in residential care
  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience of residential childcare
  • Welsh Speaker
