We are looking for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join a busy Student Services team on a temporary basis. These roles are full-time (37 hours, Monday–Friday) and will involve working across two college sites, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend support. There will be an opportunity to apply for a permanent post once you have started.
What you’ll be doing
- Offering advice, guidance, and signposting on wellbeing, welfare, finance, and course-related queries
- Providing a professional, confidential front‑of‑house service for students, staff, and visitors
- Supporting recruitment, admissions, and enrolment processes, including accurate data entry
- Handling all administration linked to student finance (EMA, WGLG, Financial Contingency Fund)
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure students receive the right support at the right time
- Maintaining and updating digital records and systems
- Assisting with transition, retention, induction, and Higher Education admissions
- Responding to changes in financial/welfare support to ensure students receive up‑to‑date information
- Promoting a bilingual service
- Supporting college events during the day and evening when required
What we’re looking for
- Level 2 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (desirable)
- Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
- Confident IT skills (MS Office, data entry)
- Experience in a customer‑facing role
- Strong communication, organisation, and people skills
- Basic Welsh language skills would be an advantage
Compliance
All candidates must complete full compliance checks prior to starting, including references, an Enhanced DBS, and registration with the EWC as a Further Education Support Worker.
