Engineering Manager | Manufacturing | FMCG | Maintenance Manager Are you an experienced Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager looking for your next leadership challenge within food manufacturing or FMCG? Our client is seeking an ambitious Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function at a busy food manufacturing facility. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing business where you'll drive engineering excellence, improve equipment reliability, lead continuous improvement projects and develop a high-performing engineering team. This role is ideal for an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Lead, Engineering Supervisor or Senior Engineering Team Leader with experience within manufacturing, food manufacturing, FMCG, processing or other regulated production environments. The Role As Engineering Manager, you will take full responsibility for the engineering department, ensuring maximum plant uptime, equipment reliability, maintenance planning and engineering compliance while delivering capital projects and supporting operational excellence. Working closely with Operations, Production, Quality and Supply Chain, you'll play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities * Lead, coach and develop the engineering team, maintenance engineers, technicians and external contractors. * Manage preventative maintenance (PPM) and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime. * Oversee CMMS and maintenance management systems, ensuring planned maintenance schedules are completed effectively. * Deliver engineering improvement initiatives and capital investment (CAPEX) projects from planning through to completion. * Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), plant efficiency and engineering performance. * Ensure engineering compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, Food Safety, BRC, Environmental and customer standards. * Manage engineering budgets, maintenance expenditure and contractor performance. * Prepare business cases for CAPEX projects, including ROI analysis and cost justification. * Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reliability, efficiency and engineering standards. * Build a proactive engineering culture focused on accountability, innovation, safety and continuous improvement. About You To be successful, you'll have: * Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Lead or similar engineering leadership role. * A recognised qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. * Strong engineering leadership experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food manufacturing, production, packaging or industrial processing. * Excellent knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), predictive maintenance and equipment reliability. * Experience managing engineering teams, contractors and maintenance systems. * Strong understanding of CMMS, engineering compliance, GMP, BRC and Health & Safety legislation. * Experience delivering engineering projects, continuous improvement initiatives and CAPEX programmes. * Commercial awareness with experience managing engineering budgets and maintenance expenditure. * Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
