We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a successful and established manufacturing/warehousing business, who are looking to appoint a Payroll Officer to join their team on a 12 month maternity contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, Payroll Administrator or HR & Payroll Officer with around 1–2 years’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a busy operational environment.

The Role

  • Working closely with management and employees, you will provide day-to-day HR administration and payroll support, helping to ensure accurate employee records, payroll processing and HR processes are maintained.
  • Supporting the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll information.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Processing starters, leavers, holidays, sickness and other employee changes.
  • Assisting with HR administration, contracts, letters and employee documentation.
  • Supporting absence, holiday and attendance administration.
  • Responding to employee queries relating to HR and payroll.
  • Assisting with recruitment administration and onboarding.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with relevant HR legislation and company policies.
  • Providing general administrative support to the HR function.

About You

We are looking for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in HR administration and payroll, ideally gained within a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, FMCG or other fast-paced operational environment. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in HR Administration and Payroll.
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and employee records.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work confidentially and professionally.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.
