Building & Site Maintenance
Monday to Friday Days (overtime available)

Our client, a well-established food manufacturing business, is currently looking to recruit a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative / Factory Handyman to join their engineering and site services team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with experience in building maintenance, site repairs, and general facilities upkeep within an industrial or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the site, ensuring high standards are maintained across all internal and external areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building maintenance and repair works across the site
- Support ongoing GMP and site audit requirements
- Complete painting, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical tasks
- Undertake building repairs including roofing, concrete work, sealing, guttering, barriers, and yard maintenance
- Maintain site services including drains and general external upkeep
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Work closely with the Engineering team, H&S Co-ordinator, Quality team, and contractors
- Assist the engineering department with additional maintenance support when required
- Complete maintenance reports and job logging accurately
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures, COSHH regulations, and risk assessments are followed at all times
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within building maintenance, construction, facilities, or site maintenance
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Building Maintenance or Construction
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or food production environments would be advantageous
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Comfortable working at height and carrying out physically demanding tasks
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Flexible approach with willingness to support out-of-hours or weekend work when required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Computer literate with the ability to complete maintenance documentation and reports
