We are working in close partnership with a major defence systems integrator who is delivering high-profile, mission-critical systems in support of UK national security. As part of this growing programme of work, we are looking to identify a security-cleared Cyber Security Engineer who will play a key role in protecting some of the UK's most sensitive digital environments. This is a hybrid role with on-site requirements in Farnborough 2 to 3 days per week, offering the chance to work on a cutting-edge programme supporting critical national infrastructure. You must be eligible for DV Clearance for this role.

The Role

You will be joining a collaborative, high-performance technical team focused on the secure delivery and support of new IT applications and infrastructure for a sensitive government customer.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Leading and executing vulnerability scanning, management, and reporting
  • Implementing and maintaining endpoint security measures, including AV/anti-malware compliance
  • Conducting system hardening and security compliance audits against frameworks like CIS, STIG, and NIST
  • Contributing to incident response, forensic investigations, and remediation activities
  • Assessing the security impact of changes, supporting secure design and assurance processes
  • Producing and maintaining detailed security documentation (HLDs/LLDs, SOPs, compliance reports)

You will also represent cyber security interests across a range of key stakeholder meetings including Security Working Groups, PI Planning sessions, and daily stand-ups with the Blue/Green Team.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineering role, ideally within the defence or secure government sector
  • Strong hands-on expertise across vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and incident response
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Government Functional Standard 007, CIS, STIG, and NIST
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to engage across multidisciplinary technical teams
  • The ability to gain or already hold DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance
  • Strong documentation skills and experience supporting secure system design and assurance activities
