The Senior Animator role will set the standard for animation quality and consistency, with extensive expertise in both motion capture (mocap) and keyframe animation and advanced knowledge of animation principles. The position will play a critical role in bringing our characters and environments to life.
Here’s just a snippet of what you’ll be up to:
- Create high-quality animations using mocap and keyframe techniques.
- Collaborate with creative and technical teams to deliver animations that support gameplay and storytelling.
- Own a specialist area (e.g. facial, gameplay, locomotion) and contribute expert-level work.
- Review, refine, and implement animations in-engine using tools like Maya or MotionBuilder.
- Mentor junior animators and support hiring and feedback processes.
- Help improve animation workflows and stay up to date with industry trends.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in the games industry with a strong animation portfolio and area of specialism.
- Skilled in mocap and keyframe animation, including facial, cinematic, and gameplay work.
- Proficient in Maya, MotionBuilder, and Unreal Engine, with experience integrating animations into game engines.
- Solid understanding of animation workflows, optimisation, and technical constraints.
- Strong grasp of body mechanics, timing, and expressive performance.
- Experience mentoring others, leading by example, and contributing to team development.
- Confident working cross-discipline, solving problems, and supporting mocap shoots.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
